The UK: Convergence in the year of jubilee

May 23, 2016

2nd May 2016 was a convergence of two great sporting achievements for Leicester in the UK, not just their unlikely Premiership title, but Mark Selby, a Leicester snooker player winning the world championship.

There are two rivers that converge in south Leicester, the river Soar and river Sence. These names mean flow and holy/saintly respectively. The convergence occurs at Jubilee park.

There’s been much talk about the fourth wave of the Spirit having started and going global, with this move representing a convergence of past moves of the Spirit and starting in the Hebrew Jubilee year.

The rivers Soar and Sence are tributaries going into the river Trent the name meaning a river prone to flooding.

In 1934 Arthur Burt had a prophecy about a flood of the Spirit with no ebb that he would see the start of in his lifetime. He passed away in 2014.

Leicester city’s stadium is called King Power and sits aside the banks of the River Soar. Leicester has been dubbed the city of kings. Significantly after centuries the bones of King Richard lll were discovered in a car park in Leicester. This happened in August 2012 a month after the bells rang out in July 2012 for the Queen’s Diamond jubilee and the London Olympics ushering in prophetic words for the UK.

The fourth wave of the Spirit with its convergence of past moves will usher in a kingly anointing as God moves in power through His Church to bring in a great harvest. In this generation God is restoring what has been hidden for centuries. It’s time for the church to arise as kings and priests demonstrating the power of the King of Kings in a time of unprecedented convergence!

Healing miracle, ankle healed, crutches discarded with video

July 14, 2015

It’s been a while since my last post, but I believe that we live in exciting and challenging days. As we transition from the Hebrew year 5775 to 5776, God is bringing restoration of what was lost, and jubilee freedom to those who put their trust in Him. To those who have pressed in as priests ministering to God, He is drawing near, James 4 verse 8, so that He can transform us to do something powerful through us with a fresh kingly anointing with new authority. We must receive all that He has for us and use it with wisdom and humility giving Him glory. God has opened up opportunities on the streets recently that make me encouraged. I was praying for two Indian people of the Hindu faith visiting the UK from Delhi when a number of others in the group saw what was happening, and as God broke through they asked for prayer too! I was reminded of part of a verse “nations will come to your light” Isaiah 60 verse 3 Many will be attracted to the anointing that you and I as believers carry. We must not be amiss in taking the risk of demonstrating the gospel trusting that God will back up His Word. A few days ago my wife Sasha and I were having coffee when she had a word of knowledge that I would meet someone with a sprained ankle walking with the aid of crutches that God wanted to heal. About an hour later I saw a young man walking on crutches with some friends. I sensed that he was the person God had talked to Sasha about. I asked him if he had sprained his ankle, and he confirmed that he had. He received prayer, and testified that his ankle was getting hot. That was an indication to me that God was healing him. I asked him to try and walk without his crutches. This was the result that you can see, praise God for His love, goodness, and awesome power!

Praying for believers : Why do more not get healed?

May 9, 2014

Someone asked me the other day why many Christians do not get healed and those that are not yet believers do. I was led to look at the healing ministry of Jesus and the early apostles. They were operating with great authority, faith and love and were able to cast out the sickness with a word instantly. I believe that a false unbiblical mindset has crept in today that has resulted in a lack of love, compassion, faith, and power. Really?!

There is a belief that God heals non-believers because of His love and grace with no strings attached but Christians need to not only have more faith to receive their miracle but deal with “issues” first but is this biblical?

To excuse a lack of authority and power Christians can pray for other Christians putting too much of the responsibility on the person they are praying for. Look at Jesus. He did not tell people to clean up their lives and jump through hoops before He healed them. We learn in Luke 4 40 and elsewhere that He healed ALL instantly. The greek word therapeuo is used here which refers just to physical healing not sozo or iaomai which are connected with salvation and wholeness.

I do want to emphasise that I do believe that there is a difference between being healed physically and walking in wholeness, and in divine health. People can get healed and lose their healing, especially if the root is not addressed and eliminated. The ministry of inner healing and counselling is very important and sometimes it can take time to deal with underlying issues. I firmly believe in this approach but it should never become a substitute for powerlessness. Remember that just one encounter with God can take away the root and sickness forever.

It is easy to pray for people’s physical healing with a lack of love and faith especially if we complicate things. Jesus and the early apostles had a hatred of sickness and took their authority over it whether the person was a believer or not. Often times the operation of The Spirit of knowledge and casting out the spirit attached to the sickness happened in a moment. God is restoring this to the Church.

According to the biblical record Jesus would heal people first and then exhorted them to walk a repented life that would promote holding on to what they had received not the other way round.

In Matthew 14:14 the compassion of Jesus was aligned to the dunamis power He operated in. When non-believers receive a miracle they are often more open to having a relationship with Jesus. There is a danger that we can put too many false conditions on believers to receive their miracle when they are prayed for. Performance mentality is the enemy of grace. When a believer gets healed physically they will surely be more open to dealing with any issue in their life that could inhibit wholeness. God does not let us stay in sickness to teach us a lesson. That is false theology.

People can talk about blockages to physical healing. Where the power of The Lord is present (Luke 5:17) there do not have to be any blockages. The only blockages can be to walking in divine wholeness after the physical healing miracle has taken place and they can be dealt with in a separate context. We are called to be a greater works generation (John 14 12) who take our authority over sickness in Jesus name with great love faith and power as we operate out of the overflow of our relationship with The Lord. It is time to go back to the powerful basics of God’s Word over man’s traditions and formulae. He is ready to heal both Christians and those who do not yet believe because of His love and grace and the stripes that Jesus took for us. When we learn how good God is we desire to walk in The Spirit all the more (Galatians 5: 16) so surely it is easier to counsel people who have received a miracle of physical healing first before the inner man is addressed.

When we stop complicating things as we pray for people we are dangerous to the enemy! God is restoring foundational truths in our generation. He is preparing a bride who are not powerless but empowered to bring in the greatest harvest of souls in history who have equal love and compassion for anyone sick or in need of a miracle whether they are a believer or not.

The Overflow of Intimacy in a Company of Believers

April 15, 2014

True ministry has been well described as the overflow of intimacy. What does that really look like? It is a lot more than operating in natural talents and even spiritual gifts. Someone may have come into a gift of The Spirit such as the working of miracles following a time when they were pressing into God in right relationship with pure heart motives, and yet that person’s relationship with God could now be lukewarm at best or they could even be in serious sin. Yet still the gifting flows because “the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” (Romans 11: 29)

As a number of important prophetic voices have enunciated recently we are at the threshold of the greatest outpouring of God’s Spirit in history, and the true Church’s finest hour to be God’s instrument to bring in a great end time harvest of souls. The preparation process in those believers who have yielded to God has been painful at times but necessary to remove all that would hinder Jesus Christ being the “fulness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1: 23) through them. New levels of His love, purity, holiness, faith, and humility have been required.

It is easy for a non believer to be impressed with gifts such as prophecy, the word of knowledge, healing and miracles but it will not change them unless they know in their heart that they have had an encounter with Jesus. The world has seen double standards and mixed motives at times when what they have been really seeking is Jesus Himself! That’s why the healing of the lame man in Acts 3 at the Gate Beautiful had such an impact. The key is in Acts 4:13 when the Sanhedrin realized that Peter and John “had been with Jesus.”

It is possible to get more excited about supernatural phenomena that is an outward manifestation of the “parousia,” (greek) the presence of The Lord than The Lord Himself. This could have contributed to revivals being shut down in history when people got caught up with the evangelist and the miracles rather than God. Imagine for a moment that like Peter you were walking on water but you were looking at Jesus. Would you get more excited about the fact you were walking on water or you were looking at the face of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself? Who or what do we treasure most?

God is getting ready to give a new level of “exousia” (greek) which is delegated power and authority to a company of believers to represent Jesus to the world. I believe this has always been God’s desire as we see from John 17:

And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” John 17 22-23

John had the unique privilege to share this most profound prayer of Jesus for His true bride to be in union with Him. It is no surprise that we learn that John was the beloved disciple who rested his head on Jesus’ chest. He would have been able to hear Jesus’ heartbeat, and if Jesus spoke His voice would have resonated through His very being. Being close to The Lord can mean that we not only hear His voice and respond in obedience, but capture something of His very heart. Hearing His voice through a deeper relationship with Him means that God will use the prophetic in a new way. Similarly if we have a fresh passion to see lost souls come home and faith for miracles it is because this is also an outworking of our intimacy with Him.

When we are abandoned to Him we are no longer swayed by either the praise or persecution of man but only His voice. We obey Him in pursuing the assignments and mandates He has for us corporately and within our unique ministry callings out of our love for Him only (John 14:15)

When we adore Him and are fascinated with Him we become desperate for more of Him. In the words of the Shulamite in Song of Solomon we become “lovesick” (5:8) He has truly captured our hearts, now we have surrendered to Him, and He can use us as vessels that are fully possessed by Him and ready to do more than function in gifting but display Him in character, nature, power and virtue. Forerunners such as William Branham and Katherine Kulhman have epitomized what God has planned for His people. He will not just use great high profile evangelists like Benny Hinn and Reinhard Bonnke, but everyday believers like you and me in these exciting days ahead. Holy Spirit abides in every believer, but there is a company who have prepared a home for Christ to dwell in so there is a greater fulness of His anointing activated and expressed to demonstrate the gospel (1 Corinthians 2 4-5) In 1 John 3 24 we learn an important truth:

Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The English monk Bede 672/673-735 AD helped to translate portions of the Bible from Latin into Old English centuries before Wycliffe and Tyndale. The Amplified Bible has used his translation of part of this same verse:

They let Christ be a home to them and they are the home of Christ.

How much will you and I allow that to happen and see the impossible birthed through the overflow of intimacy?

1Why we need a fresh baptism of God’s fire for holiness 2) Healing video testimony, and healing prayer room update

October 20, 2013

1) There are a number of important prophetic voices that have confirmed that we are coming into a season where God is pouring out a fresh baptism of God’s fire for holiness to His bride. This includes Bob Jones and Patricia King to name but two. We should not run away from this, but embrace it wholeheartedly. This fire will ultimately consume sickness and disease and demonstrate Jesus to the lost. According to Bob and Bonnie Jones it will be “far greater than Pentecost and more powerful than Azusa Street of recent times.” The emphasis will be holiness, healing, and harvest. Let’s explore holiness briefly.

It is impossible to be holy without being born again, and without holiness no one will see The Lord (Hebrews 12: 14) . We cannot strive to be holy of course. When we become a new creation in Christ old things pass away, and all things become new, most importantly our spirit man. Our spirits get perfected, consequently we have access into the very presence of The Father because of the blood sacrifice of Jesus.  Does this mean that God stops working on our hearts, and we have no problems in the realm of the soul. No, far from it! Because Holy Spirit has come into our hearts, He is working on our souls to be become increasingly more like Jesus, and to the degree we co-operate with Him, this process can be accelerated before our lives here are over. As a result we can enter into that joyful union that He desires for each one of us:

“That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” John 17 : 21 (King James Version)

Note the last part of the verse, “that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” The world wants to see something real that they are hungering for deep down. They must see nothing less than Christ in us and through us! Our union with the Lord is a glorious end in itself of course. In fact there is an awesome promise attached for those whose hearts have been purified by Him in that we will see Him (Matthew 5 : 8) and when our hearts are pure, with no mixed motives, we desire to live in the Spirit which results in obedience, and another wonderful promise that He will manifest Himself to us :

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” John 14 : 21 (King James Version)

So we need a fresh baptism of God’s fire for holiness to be more intimate with Him. Ministering to Him must always come first because this is what we were created for. When ministering to those who do not yet know Him, we need it so that our flesh doesn’t rise up, and we can be laid down vessels of His love, glory and power so He brings a great harvest of souls into His Kingdom for eternity. Will this baptism challenge us? It does far more than that! It takes away our pride, and all in us that must be put to death!

It must never be forgotten that character is more important than gifting. People will tend to judge the external, but God is always looking at the heart (1 Samuel 16 : 7) We are transitioning into a greater works generation where God will show Himself strong on behalf of those who are devoted to Him wholeheartedly (2 Chronicles 16 : 9) , and those who intimately know God will be strong in the face of difficulty and do great exploits in His name (Daniel 11 : 32 ) which are of course His works manifested through us. Let’s allow God to get rid of everything in our lives that would quench The Spirit therefore. There is too much at stake eternally not to!

2) a) Cheltenham street healing

I had a great time seeing God’s love and power touch people today in Cheltenham England. There were healings, including legs backs and feet of people that received the healing power of Jesus Christ as pain left bodies such as for this man who shares what God did:

b) Stratford-upon-avon Healing Prayer Room Update

We are holding regular healing prayer rooms in Stratford-upon-avon with God releasing physical, emotional and spiritual healing to people coming. In recent months we have seen people accepting Christ as pain has left bodies. Most recently a young man who had received prayer for shingles on his face confirmed that a few hours after prayer the scabs started falling off. God’s power touched him and healed him! His face looks transformed.

God’s manifest presence has come revealing His reality and love, and now we are discipling people recognizing the importance not just of our mandate of Matthew 10 : 8 to heal the sick but Matthew 28 : 19 to “go and make disciples of all nations.” As discussed in an earlier article in this blog it’s vital that we make disciples and not just converts. This comes through love, relationship, trust, and a sound biblical foundation to all that we are imparting to people. It is time to harvest the harvesters! We want to reach people for Christ who in turn will reach others, and we will see His Kingdom expand gloriously! God is looking for co-labourers to the harvest. He is looking for you!

AB Simpson on healing at the Holiness and Healing Bethshan Conference London 1885

September 23, 2013

AB Simpson, one of the pioneers of the early Pentecostal movement in the 1800s spoke at the 1885 Bethshan Conference on Holiness and Healing, London England, giving a fascinating insight about how he came to the revelation that healing is always God’s will, and God’s Word:

“After years of teaching from and waiting on Him, about four year ago, when broken down physically in every way, so that I had no strength for my work, the Lord Jesus Christ showed me that it was His blessed will to be my complete Saviour for body as well as soul; and with a heart that fainted at the slightest effort–almost caused my death when I tried to climb a little mountain in Europe a few years ago–having been laid
aside a dozen times from my work, I came to Him, and alone with Him I lifted my hand to heaven and made three solemn pledges:

The first was, that I solemnly believed that this Gospel of healing was truly God’s Word–I had to stand on the truth or I could not get the life;

the second was, I solemnly took it for myself as given to me, and believed it was mine and that I was now healed, and not only healed, but that I had the full strength of my risen Lord for the rest of my work for Him–I did not take Him merely for healing, but for the strength of life until He had done with me:

and the third thing
I believed was this–that He keeping all these pledges in me and for me, I should not refuse to use this truth for the help of others, if he needed it.”

God healed his heart so that he was able to climb a mountain the next day! Not only that, but he prayed for his daughter Margaret to be healed from diphtheria and she was. This same disease had killed his son Melville earlier.

Thank God for this lesser known Canadian preacher, and for the way He pressed in to leave such a lasting legacy.

The sons of Issachar and Joshua, seeing and stepping in.

September 17, 2013

Greater revelation requires greater responsibility. Not only did the sons of Issachar have “understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do” (1 Chronicles 12: 32 KJV) but we learn from 1 Chronicles 7 1-5 that they were “valiant men of might.”

Increased revelation, wisdom, understanding and discernment will often require an act of obedience which requires courage. We cannot always just sit on what we receive. Jesus says in Luke 12:48 “For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.”

Consider Joshua who received the spirit of wisdom (Deuteronomy 34:9) imparted through Moses. Like his predecessor he was exhorted by God to be “strong and courageous.” Joshua 1:9

Stepping into the new first requires that we see the open door that God has given us very clearly in this season, but also requires courage to walk through it into all the fulness that He has for us, not being intimidated by any opposition, but trusting Him completely.
