New Season for evangelism in the UK

March 7, 2019

Last week God clearly spoke to me about Luke 4:18 where Jesus confirms Isaiah 61: 1 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.” The same day I saw the England cricket team smash 418 setting an ODI world record for number of sixes. The cricket World Cup comes to England this summer and we have a good chance of winning it! Here’s what I believe God is saying:

We’re moving into a season of fruitful evangelism in our nation marked by an army of believers many of whom have been hidden that have been seeking God with no agendas other than drawing closer to Him, letting Him be glorified through their lives, and revealing Jesus and the love of The Father to the lost. This will be marked with an acceleration of signs wonders and miracles.

Just as our nation ultimately becomes free from the shackles of the EU so people will become free. Luke 4 18 ends with “to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

People won’t just be set free physically but have their eyes open spiritually. It is important though that we continue to pray at this time as the turmoil over Brexit reflects a new intensity of spiritual contention over our nation clearly taking place.
